Small Scale Research Presentations ==> WHAT NEXT??
You should now have all your research done this may have come from books, magazines, periodicals, the Internet, questionnaires, focus groups and interviews.
You need to sort through all of your research and devise a catalogue of material this will consist of 10 to 15 items therefore you need; a minimum of 7 items (including the 3 films)of material that you have found most useful and beneficial to answering your focus question, and a minimum of 3 items of material that you have found less useful. All items need to be annotated, this will demonstrate how you exercise critical judgement in determining what should and shouldn't be included. Create a physical folder full of research material as this may be asked for by the exam board.
Once you have devised your catalogue you need to work on your presentation script. Your presentation script is exactly what it says it's a script that you will read from to help you do your presentation, it will also include when you intend to show film clips and what those film clips are and any other material you choose to use will also be referenced. See example and guidance on how to complete the presentation script in the Small Scale Research booklet on pages 19-21 http://www.slideshare.net/belair1981/small-scale-research-booklet You can make your presentation as imaginative and as entertaining as you like as long as you address your focus question, offer an enthusiastic delivery of the research findings and come to some kind of conclusion.
Your presentation needs to be 1000-1500 words, this would mean that it would last approximately 12-18mins with the assumption that you would include 5-6 clips 60-90sec long.

- be in note form (though comprehensibly so)
- be bulleted or numbered in an appropriate fashion
- be short pieces of prose with reference to presentation material connecting them (and listing the catalogue item)
- use appropriate headings and sub-headings to divide it up
It should show where a piece of supporting material from the Catalogue will be used (or where material derived from the Catalogue but designed specifically for the Presentation is employed) and should ensure that Catalogue items used in the Presentation Script are clearly referenced (by Catalogue number is easiest but full referencing in footnotes/end notes is also fine)
It is important to note that an essay format is not suitable.
The Catalogue is marked out of a total of 15 marks and the Presentation Script 25 marks
